Default Hood floating up?

I was driving over a bridge I have to take every day, I was doing about 50 mph there was a big cross wind I had to slow down to about 35-40 because my hood looked like it was going to fly open. You can see the hood lifting and shacking. My wife has had the same problem with her jeep. both are 2013 JKU. Any one have this problem?

Get you some better hood latches. Problem solved,... It's a common problem especially if you have removed the front air dam.

Air blast through the grill = high enough pressure in the engine bay to lift the hood. Very common.
There are quite a few threads showing how to mitigate the hood's lifting.

I have not seen any posts of the hood actually blowing open.

These latches keep the hood from floating?

I have the daystar ones that replaced the stock rubber ones with polyurethane and they work great. I think they are around 25 bucks. You can probably find them over the next few days on sale.

You can replace your hood latches, but it isn't necessary. As long as they are properly latched, your hood will not fly open. I have yet to hear about any stock Jeep having the hood fly open or the latches to completely break.

That's what the safety latch is for.
There are a few options that replace the latches if you are so inclined though. The Rugged Ridge are probably the most popular.
