Depends on the rim. I run 35/12.5/17 nitto trail grapplers on stock rims at 15psi all the time. You will be okay at that pressure in the sand. Obviously beadlocks will let you go lower. However, since you are asking this question I'm assuming you don't have beadlocks.

I go there every summer. 15 psi works like a charm. 16x8 rims 33' tires, never lost a bead.

I live around the corner from the famed "OBX" and on hot, dry days you can expect to drop your pressure slightly but most of the time I run 32psi without any issues.

I've found that number to hold true for all of my various vehicles and tire/wheel combo's (with the exception of the 16" wheels and goodyear ST's) over a 10 year span of time specifically at the Outer Banks.

There are places that you'll want to go lower like Oregon Inlet. Check for "Oregon Inlet Idiots" for some examples. Again- I speak from experience of living very close and visiting often, not from annual visits.

I run 15 psi for hill climbing/mudding. I would think that is much harder on the tire so running those psi on sand should be no issue.
