Default Hydrolic Jack question

Looking at purchasing one for routine stuff (tire rotation...etc)
Would 3.5 tons be enough with front and rear aftermarket bumpers, winch, and 35's? Also what would be the minimum height needed for say a 4" lift on 35's?

Thanks in advance

Well the curb weight is like mid 5000lbs i THINK... so you would only be lifting half that, and 3.5 tons is 7000lbs divided by half. So as long as half your jeep doesnt weigh 3500lbs you will be fine.

ok, so then 3.5 tons should be good...what about height. Is 22" high enough with the above mentioned mods?

Well if the tire is 35" and the axle is in the center of the rim, we can deduce that the axle shaft is centered at 17.5" If the diff hangs down another say 4-6" That puts the bottom of the diff at around 12.5" off the ground...so as long as you lift the diff and not the frame you will be fine. You will however run into problems if you want to lift by the frame Of course you can always use blocks of wood but that can be dangerous.

*Safety disclaimer* NEVER work on a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. USE JACKSTANDS!!! I lost a friend who got killed when his race car fell on top of him
