Nah... mine was made in August '06-- and picked up in September '06. It's an '07. Production on next year's model always starts about two thirds into the previous year.

Obviously, there isn't anyone out there yet with a JK that was manufactured in '08....

If the Jeep says it was made in 8/07 I would think you bought an '08. I'm not sure they were making anymore 07's in August. This year (2007), the 2008's came out a bit earlier than previous years. Check your window sticker that'll state what it was as will the registration. Also, if you have the tire sensors... you got an '08. My bet is w/it being an '08.

Yeah, I think it is an '08. from what I remember They started taking orders for the 2008 Models in June (When I placed mine) and actually statred building them in July of this year. So, if it was built in Aug, then I would understand it to be an '08 model year JK.

It's a very common thing for a lot of manufacturers to do this in many different fields. For instance, I'm a Bicycle Mechanic, and if I'm rebuilding a suspension fork and need to search for oil volumes by model year; to find the year I look for the manufacture date stamp. If it is stamped as being produced in 04', I know that it's an 05' fork. Hope that helps.

From what I can remember, they stopped production on 07s sometime in April and began production on 08s sometime in late June/early August.

Are you JKgirl08 or are you JKgirl07? Since it is 2007 I would think you would be "07" But maybe you didn't realize it was 07 and put 08 . . . . oh never mind, just messin with ya.

Very simply you can look at your registration or insurance. It will say.
I think they started building MY08 in July 2007.
