Correct, it's a sugar pine. And same with you, we didn't hear them at night. It was only in the morning. Although we didn't hear much racket as they fall.. mostly we heard the whistling sound. The trees in the area where we camped (hodgden meadows) didn't have as much foliage I guess, to make much noise (probably due to the drought). Thanks, yea, he's ok.. we have been careful about where we pitch a tent since that day
