Default Kayak Hauling

So Im in the dilemna of hauling my kayak on top of two door with the soft top down or getting a rack. Im not crazy about the way the racks look on two doors (congo rack/gobi etc) but prob not best idea to strap kayak to rollbar/soundbar etc. all the time.

The racks seem like they make it a pain to get the softop folded back but would be very convenient for transporting one kayak. I use the kayak 3-4 days a week after work and throwing on top of rollbar is a pain.

Any suggestions from anyone whose dealt with this?

This is how I take ours to the lake when the hard top is off. Just a few dollars in reliable ratchet straps and we hit the highway with no issues. Now I have my hardtop on and looking for options myself...

That's an awesome top but the $1300 price tag is too steep for my jeep budget. I would even consider buying a cheap small trailer from harbor freight to tow the kayaks for under $400.

I use a trailer for hauling mine but just for hauling a single I looked at using something like a light bar mount above windshield and a hitch mounted T post for the rear. You could use it with top up or down.

This is exactly what I do but front still moves around on highway. Lifts up under wind no matter how tight you strap it....i found a Bestop temp rack that clamps onto rear sides so you remove when not using if you want..Amazon sells for $260.
