need advice on buying a 2012 JK
Hey all,
A dealer in town has a used 2012 JK with 9400 miles on it..its a 2 door sport s and its got all the goodies including the connectivity group..so its loaded. I test drove it and it felt fine. I used to own an 08 JK, so im used to how they are. I was told that this was the dealers loaner car for when customers dropped theirs off, and they used this for the day. they are asking 21,995. I noticed a small crack on top the tailgate door..looks like someone dropped something heavy on it and the paint is cracked like a 3 inch mark. I asked if they would fix it and the jerk said 'not for that price were selling it!' but then later said ok when i told him I would never buy a car with a potential rusting area right in sight.
anyway, Ive been reading all the posts about the ticking engine noise and how its a hit or miss with their replacing of the head, and it might be holding me back a little because what if it happens after the warranty how much does it cost to fix type of worries. This is the perfect jeep that has everything I want in it and sill under bumper to bumper warranty.
What do you think for that price? thoughts on 2012 JK? or any other advice is appreciated.
I found this forum to be very helpful..I dont even own a jeep yet but I read a lot of the posts and learn. Thanks for all great advice.

I am willing to bet that they are including any rebates in their areas.
For the OP, I would buy new or not at all. If they are asking that much for a loaner that is ridiculous. Who knows how well the borrowers treated it, and the warranty is only going to last for 3 months. I would buy a new sport and get a lifetime warranty; it would be a much better investment IMHO.
