Default Need some help for my friend buying a jeep

It's an 09 manual tranny, power windows,35 inch tires/17 wheels. Not sure on the lift but I know it's pro comp maybe 3-4 inch. With tube doors. 25,000 miles. What do you think a reasonable offer is? Thanks!!

Looks like a pro comp 4" with MX6 shocks. Had that lift on my 10. $23k is as high as I would go. Maybe start at $21.

IMHO, lifts, wheels and tires, don't add any additional price increase value. If anything they can actually take away from the market value from a newer model, low mileage vehicle.

There's a couple ways to look at this:

POSITIVE SIDE CONSIDERATIONS:
- A lift, wheels, tires have been installed where if you're interested in doing that, then someone has already paid for it to be done.

NEGATIVE SIDE CONSIDERATIONS:

- The aftermarket parts and installation may not be what you would have selected if you had decided to do it yourself.
- You take on the risk of not knowing where/how those 25K miles have been driven and any damage to other components occurred with that lift. (consider possible water damage, drive train damage, suspension damage, steering damage, frame damage).
- The vehicle is outside of the 3yr/36K manufacturers warranty, where that lift can be considered to be a cause of other OEM parts failing.

- The OEM parts are gone and you now take on the responsibility of never being able to go back to OEM if you find out something is wrong due to that lift and tires.

Most people know when they invest in after market accessories, they will never be able to re-coop their investment on those aftermarket parts if the vehicle has been driven. If they expect to re-coop their investment in the sale, their expectations are flawed.

I would therefore, not offer anything higher than fair market value for a 2009 JKU X with 25K miles on it. Doing a little comparative research on Cars.com and autotrader.com, that puts that vehicle around $20K-$23K, "If" someone is willing to pay the actual asking price.

If your friend is going into this, considering only the positive side considerations, then the seller may just have found the sucker he's looking for.

I personally wouldn't offer anything higher than $21K.

You mention, and the pics show the tube doors? Does it have the OEM doors and are they included? If not your friend needs to deduct the cost of replacement doors because he's going to want them this winter!
