NEKKID TIME ! ! ! = Hard top and door storage questions...
NEKKID TIME ! ! ! = Hard top and door storage questions...
I have misfortune of living in a home with no garage.
I do have some storage space, but it's not big enough for the top alone.
Much less the top, 2 top pannels + 4 doors.
So I'm looking at renting a storage for the summer.
my options are 5'x5' @ $24mo
or 5'x10' @ $37mo
I measure the top left to right and got 5'2"
so if the storage has that 2" of play, I have room for everything
but if it's a true 5' or less
I may have to put it in "kiddy corner"
which could also affect room for the doors
Nothing else will be in the storage
Those (with ample funds) will say get the 10x10 and quit sniveling
However I am frugal (cheapbastid) and I am having a hard time accepting
a 55% price increase, to get an extra 25sq feet when all I might need is 4sq feet
any feed back? smart alleck remarks? previous experience? horror stories?

I haven't used one, but a hard top storage dolly will hold it upright and allow you to wheel it into the storage unit.
Or... build a rack that will support the hardtop off the ground equivalent to the hight it is when on the jeep. You can slide it off the jeep to on the rack, and be able to store doors/panels underneath the top.
Either of those ways would let you use the smaller unit. (Assuming the dimensions you gave are correct)

Get a hard top Dolly or make one thats what Im Doing, my doors IMA put them in my room and my top I will make the dolly and roll it to the back yard and just cover it from the elements and stuff. The dolly stands up so the top will be vertical so you have more space

In the end, the 5x5 units were a bust.
They were 5x5 "ish" and not on the generous side.
More like 4'10" x 4'6".
So I HAD to go with 10x5
BUT I was able find a 5x10 for the same price the other wanted for a 5x5 = win
and the jeep has now gone from hard top, to soft top
