Default Pic request please

My JKU is almost here. In the meantime I'm in the process of gathering ideas of rims/tires/lift etc... My thinking is to go with the following:

TF leveling kit
Nitto Grapplers 305/60/18
MB TKO Wheels 18x9

Anyone have this setup, or something similar, with pics they could provide?? I'm dying to see what it may look like. My planned purchase will be from Discount Tire Direct.

Thanks in advance!

The rims and tires would be cheaper if you went with 17" rims. 18" is the Sahara rim higth but Rubis and X models have 17s.

Default 17's

so lets say I went with 17 wheels, what would be the tire size to go with. I know this depends a lot on what I'm looking to do but it mostly for the look.

Like was suggested above, since you're buying new wheels anyway, ditch the 18" wheels and switch to the more popular 17" size and save lots of money. Also, choosing a more popular tire size like 315/70R17 or 285/70R17 will save you even more.

depends on what wheels you get, back spacing plays a large part in deciding width of tire and whether or not you need spacers. If you stick with a stock wheel then yes, you'll need 1.5" wheel spacers. if you go with an aftermarket wheel with 4.5" back spacing then you should be ok.

Default GY Duratracs are the choice!!!!!!!!!!.......and MB TKO's

After much thought I think I have decided to go with GY Duratracs and MB TKO wheels. My rig should be here in a couple weeks so I plan on ordering soon. Heres the question:

16 or 17 in rim?

After you guys mentioned the savings with the smaller size I searched and did realize you were correct. Is there any pro/con other than cost for the rim size, or is it all based on looks?

Second:

Do I go 315/70/17 or 285/70/17?

I'm leaning towards the 285. This will be my DD, and the only off road it will see is the beach once a week or so plus it is a bit cheaper.

Does the more narrow tire help in gas mileage?

And also, for those running GY's, all these threads have 90% awesome reviews and 10% not so awesome. Some say they run small? Others say the sidewall is weak? I assume even if these things are correct I don't need to worry as my rig will never see anything over light off road. Anyone else have an opinion on?

Finally (whew) can anyone post a pic of their Duratracs w/ TKO's? I have found a number of pics here but mostly of 15's. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

For a good wheel size just cut your tire size in half. I have 35" (315) duratracs ( so I have a 17" wheel. I think it looks perfect. So I think if you go with the 285 then get 16" wheels, unless you plan to upgrade in the future then get the 17". Pros and cons are amaller the rim better the offroad, but since you don't plan on doin much then it doesn't really matter.

My mpg is horrible but I haven't regeared yet. I have a 4" teraflex and 315/70R17 duratracs and I lost a ton of power. With all that extra weight on stock gears I get 12-13 mpg city and freeway I think it's like 15 mpg if I'm doing 70 mph.

So I'd say go with the 285s if you're looking to save some gas.

Here's my rig sitting on a 4" teraflex and 315/70R17 duratracs wrapped around 17" double standard method racing wheels
