Default Protecting Jeep suggestions

Looking for suggestions on protecting the Jeep paint on the trail. I'm having a blast wheeling and I'm looking to go on more challenging trails, but I also have a black sahara, and I want to keep the paint looking as nice as possible. Unfortunately, being black, and a sahara with painted flares, this seems to be a challenge. I'm thinking the magnetic trail skins for the body plus the scotchgard paint protection film on my flares may do just the trick. What do you guys think? Any better ideas? I know the logical solution would be to care less or replace my flares but I'm just not there yet. Thanks in advance.

Plastidip a really thick coat on your flares and doors, then peel it off when you get home. $6 bucks a can....

I had trailskins for a while. They worked good. Finally gave up on my paint though and sold them.

Do you guys think the scotchgard paint protection film would hold up on the flares?

perfect paint protection,3m Vinyl is tough stuff and designed for paint protection. This is my second vehicle with it. My Taco has had it on for 7 years and it is still in great shape, even after driving through manzanita.

Bringing this old thread back. Will the rattle can plastidip be good for the painted fender flares? My understanding is since I don't really care how it looks it'll be just fine. I only plan on keeping the plastidip on for a week at most for protection while offroading. I was in talks with dipyourcar.com and they claim that rattle can plastidip won't work well on horizontal surfaces such as the top of the flares. I stressed that finish isn't that important to me, however, they were still pretty bent on selling me one of their spray gun kits. Way too expensive IMO for something I'm not going to keep on there for long. What are your thoughts on dipping the fender flares? How many coats, how many cans, etc? Will the rattle can method work fine? I've never used plastidip before. Thanks.

Still hoping for a response. I know a lot of people here have plastidip experience!

Let me put it this way: when I dipped my wheels, they were laying flat on the ground. The plasti dip will be fine, just don't go full retard with the application and you'll be good to go

What would constitute full retard with the application?
