Wah. I'm in NJ. Can't carry anything by law unless you are going to or from a licensed range. I used to go ATV riding in the remote trails around Tower City PA. I didn't carry then, but one incident had me worried. I came up over a hill and saw a group of kids on atv's. They appeared to be in distress and were signaling me to come over. As I got to them, my wife and kids then appeared over the hill since they were lagging behind. The kids then Told me everything was fine and they didn't need any help. I know they initially thought I was alone and were going to force me off my quad to steal it. When they saw the rest of my crew their plan was foiled. Sure wish I was packing my M&P 40, or my Glock 19, or my Beretta Nano.

When I read this doesn't make me want to carry, makes me not want to stop and help someone on the trail.
See a guy on the trail stuck...turn around, he may have a gun.

My understanding is if the vehicle is moving and you don't have a concealed carry it needs to be unloaded and locked in a separate container from the ammo. Best place to find out for sure would be Calguns.
