Default Registered My JK Station Wagon

Went in to register my JK, they punch in the vehicle , it shows up as.....

Make: Jeep
Model: Wrangle Run
Veh Type: Station Wagon

At least my insurance is super low.... but what are they smoking up there?

Lady said that this fills out automatically from the VIN or something

That's classic. Now I want to change my side-panel decals to say

"Wrangle Run Limited"

YEP here in NY they are classified on the registration as "SUBN" which is the classification for Sport Utility / Station Wagon. Every Jeep I have ever had has had this classification.

My insurance calls mine a Wranglerunlx. My registration calls it a 2007/Jeep/LL.

When I was trying to talk my wife into letting me get the JK she was all for it, but said it all depends on the insurance. I was SURE that it would go up from the car I'd been driving, but when we checked it actually went down. Waaaaaay down. Now I know why. I went from a sedan to a station wagon.

My 86 4runner was considered a truck and I paid 107.50 for registration. My 3/4 ton Suburban was considered a station wagon and I paid 67.50. The suburban was twice the size and weight of the 4runner. In Jersey most SUVs are considered station wagons. In 86 the 4runner with it's removable top was considered a Toyota pick up truck.

You can drive a small Mazda pickup and its registered as a truck and a Ford Excursion is a station wagon costing less to register.

I just registered my bus. I am converting it to a motorhome and they charged me less than a truck to register it. It's 40 foot long and weighs 25,000 pounds... cost 70 bucks to register.
