Don't flame me. I know we don't buy jeeps to save $$ on gas. However, I keep a log of every fill up in my 2012 JKU since it's had zero miles. It now crossed the 80,000 mile mark. I've spent $14,970.22 in gas and used 4967.1 gallons. I've filled it up 287 times.
Just kinda hits home when you see how big those numbers are. Still, no regrets. I'll be posting the actual mpg charts soon from every fill up.

I am the first owner. I custom ordered my Jeep. Went 360 miles on the first tank of gas. On a percentage basis, the first tank really isn't too significant. Figure 19 gallons out of the 4967 that I've put in. That's less than half of one percent. I actually can't remember if it was full or not when I picked it up. I guess it must have been since I don't have data recorded at odometer = zero.

yeah, my wife thinks I'm nuts. However, I am 49 and when I bought this in 2012 it was the first brand new vehicle I've ever purchased. I have lifetime warranty and the dealer told me to keep maintenance records since I do my own maintenance. I figured since I am keeping a maintenance log, I might as well record my fill ups in the book too. I bet whoever becomes the next owner of the Jeep will appreciate the records I've kept in a nice excel spreadsheet.

my degree is in physics with MS in Engineering management. Spent 11 years designing superconducting wire for MRI systems and atom smashers. Spent the last 16 years developing evacuation systems for use on Boeing aircraft. I'm in this picture somewhere. They are fun to go down. I posted the charts showing my data in the Stock topic
