Default Switch Gears/TeraFlex Diff Cover??

Switched to 4.56 gears recently n today went back to the shop to drain n refill the diff fluid after the gears break in period(500 miles).. I purchased the Royal Purple, 4 bottles thinking 2 n some change for the rear dana 44 n 1 for the front dana 30 .. I did upgrade the diff covers to teraflex covers.. My concern is that the rear only took 1.50 to 1.75ish bottles.. The jeep was level and I watched as the tech filled it .. Is such a difference normal? I can't let it go.. Lol.. The manual calls for 2 n some changes liters for the rears.. Im confused .. lol.. Anyone w a similar experience?

Then that's normal you only fully drain it if you pull the cover

A good clean up is generally recommended after the break in period not just drop and fill. I would not worry about it though just next time do a proper clean up.

Nowdays synths and conventional are made with compatable bases. you can mix them with no issues unless your like me and have ODC in which case it will just bug the hell out of you.

Good to know. I am regearing to 4.56 next month and it's nice to know I should pull the diff cover and give a full cleaning vs just a drain/fill. Thanks!
