Switched to synthetic oil and this happened
After two years of conventional oil, I decided to switch to Mobil 1 synthetic.
I have a 2.5" lift, 120lb front bumper, and 35" tires.
I averaged 17mpg on the highway with conventional oil.
Got this today:
Anyone else noticed a difference ?

I can feel a difference in less vibration but never in mpg. Sure you didn't get the summer gas switch over? I loose 3-4 mpg with that damn 10% ethanol.

During winter some regions add 10% ethanol to the gas to cut emissions down. I don't believe in it because you end up burning more mpg that offsets the 10%.

We have 10% ethanol all year 'round and still have winter blend that reduces mpg's in the winter.
The difference is the addition of lighter ingredients in the winter that would evaporate too easily in the summer. These lighter ingredients are cheaper than the gasoline's ingredients they replace, but contain less energy.

I don't think ethanol is the difference between winter and summer blends.

thats wierd that synthetic would do that... did you use the same spec as the dino ie:10w-30 etc or you put something lighter. The diff between the two is usually synth breaks down slower than dino oil... I would put synthetic in a Porsche but never in a JK. But, please let us know how it works out for you... interested in how this pans out.

The only way to verify his actually happened is to replicate the entire situation with only one variable. That variable being the oil. Other than that, the air temp, humidity, fuel grade and blend, same road, same direction, same wind, same exact throttle input, same exterior set up, ac on/off, etc., etc., would have to be in place.
Without controlling all of these environmental factors, you only have speculation.

After switching to Mobil 1 synthetic I average from 23-26 mpg. But soon after switching I developed a massive oil leak from the rear of the oil pan gasket and had to replace it.
