Its like $40 for a 1/2x12x24 inch piece online. I got mine at a local rubber and plastic place for less. So its more than steel but it doesnt rust, doesnt need to be painted and can be used as a cutting board.

Yea. I got a big sheet for free so I've cut it up for lots of projects

Made mine out of a stainless steel tray and other parts I had kicking around.

I made my Tailgate Table from a Stainless Steel grill door ; these grills show up free by the side of the road, or at Transfer Stations ( dumps) . The support chains are from old shop lights ; the hinges , from tthe "Use it Someday" box. A piece of Velcro, and a footman loop complete it.
