Talk Me In or Out of a New Jeep
So I have a 2010 JKU Sport with 81,680 miles. I bought it in Feb 2012. I kinda want to trade it for a 2011+ JKU. My main reason is due to miles (even though 81k in miles isn't bad). My secondary reason is I like the interior of the 2011+ models. I owe just over $10k on it still so would have $10k to trade in, if everything went my way. In order to keep the wife happy (if she even lets me do it) I would need to keep my payment below $350 for a 36 or 48 month loan.
On the other side of it, I could pay off the Jeep (in two more years) and put my monthly payments into mods (bumpers, lighting, flares, etc).
So say what's on your mind. Talk me into a new jeep or keep me in my current one.

I have 2009 jkur and an 2013 sport 2 door. Love them both, but my 2013 I drive nice on the road and my 4 door not so nice offroad. If you just drive around town and like the new interior and want more power then trade it in for a 2012+. Skip the 11 IMHO. If you plan to offroad it then pay off the 2010 and mod away afterwards. That would be how I do it.

2014 vs 2015
...I have a 2010 4 door Sahara...w 35k......Im also looking into getting the new interior.....I'm looking for a 2014..only because the Dealer will want to part those out NOW ....2015's are in the Lot ...KBB says 26K for a dealer trade in....I still owe 8K and 24 months....Wouldnt mind financing 15K over 48 months and getting into a New JK.......

I had an '08 and was debating about doing the same thing as you. I originally wanted new but with the price they are going for and the amount of backcountry bush the Jeep sees I decided against it. Got a '12 and best decision I made. I was super hesitant about it at first since I figured how much better could the 3.6 really be... well... wow lol. It rocks. Totally love the new interior and engine. Ended up getting it fully loaded with leather, touch screen, black on black, exactly what I wanted and its perfect.
Don't get the '11 no matter how good the deal is, its the weird cousin of the JK generation. New interior, but missing the engine and kind of fits into both but lacks the benefit of the upgrade. I'd say get the '12, payments should be much more then now and neither should the term if you can score a good deal.

No sense in completely ruling out the'11. Many people will tell you that the ole 3.8L has plenty of reasons to like it. Proven power plant that will be good for up to 300k miles. New interior. The '12s have tons of issues with everything from heads to transmissions. I like the power, but that's not everything.

Well, I did it... traded our '11 JKU for a '14 JKUR last spring. The new Jeep is absolutely better in every way and makes it easy to forget how much more I'm paying for it.
For the price difference I probably could have put new dana 60s and 37s underneath the '11 though. Just sayin'...

I test drove a 2011 and didn't like it at all. I then went to test drive an LR4 and RR Sport SC. I was sold on the RR Sport. Then, the Jeep dealer called me and said they just got in a 2012, coming off the truck as we spoke. I went back, test drove the 2012 and didn't hesitate to buy one. Very pleased, always wanted jeep and not disappointed in the least. Considering my previous history with Land Rover, I believe I would have eventually been very disappointed.
