Teenager Learning to drive in Jeep Good or Bad?
My 15 year old son will be getting his learner's permit in 6 months, and Maryland requires 60 hours of behind the wheel driving, among other things, before you can get your driver's license. We have two vehicles, my stock 2015 Rubicon, and my husband's Chevy Avalanche. I would love to hear your thoughts on my teenager learning to drive for the first time in the Jeep, and taking the driver's test in the Jeep.

My 15yr old daughter has been driving my 08 2dr for the past year on her school permit. Visibility is very good with a flat windshield and I took out back seat headrests to open up back view. Supervised it is a very good vehicle to learn on. Unsupervised it is a very tempting vehicle to get in trouble with.

The Wrangler is perfect because you can start him off road. Pick a big field, nothing to hit. When he's done not only will he know how to drive but he'll also know how to wheel!
I'm going to teach my daughter on my JKUR with a manual. She can't wait.

The only thing I can think of is stability. Before my Jeep, I drove a Volvo s40.. Taking turns at a slow rate of speed took a little getting used to. I went from halfway aggressive driving, to less aggressive than my grandma in her Hoveround..
