Is there a MPG difference between plain 2012 Sport vs. fully loaded Sport S?
I have a 2012 Sport S with hardtop, automatic, 3.73 gears, and loaded with all the bells and whistles minus the navi.
I drive very conservative and best I get is 17.5~18mpg calculated on streets.
I drive on freeway at 62~65mph and best I get is 21mpg and very rarely 22mpg.
I read alot of you folks here get 22~24mpg on even the 3.8L how the heck is that possible
I have determined that it might have something to do with the X or Sport models being plain jane with 16in rims, 6speed stick, and softtop with about 300lbs lighter overall in weight and of course those 3.23 gears. Is the weight and gears the main reason others get MPG's in 20's
Thanks,
bigC

Mpg will vary between vehicles you could have 2 vehicles exact same everything and the mpg will not be exactly the same. So many factors come into play when trying to get the best MPG. I have a 2012 2 door sport and get 20mpg hwy. my brother in law has a 2012 4 door freedom edition and gets 22mpg hwy...

Heck, last weekend I drove 4 hours at about 50~55mpg and thats when I finally hit 22mpg.
Maybe a exausts, chip, and cold-air system might help.

Don't count out fuel either. Certain blends will decrease/increase MPG's. I see about an 8% drop in the winter, due to the blend that is used. I know CA has a lot of stuff to reduce emissions. That does not mean that the fuel provided better MPG's, just that it burns cleaner.

I've got my '08 Sahara JKU soft top 3.21 gears on stock 17" SRA tires up to 26mpg on a 14 hr trip to TN. Had the wind to my back all night, never got over 65mph, and followed semi trucks for the most part. I average though 20-22 mpg everyday with 80/20 highway city.
Now that I'm with 33" tires, I'm getting 18-20 mpg with daily driving.
I've got a 6-speed, and shift below 2000 rpms. I drive in the slow lane and drive like a gma even though I'm 22 years old.
