Tire pressure with 35 inch tires
There was a post where someone thought the ride on their lifted Wrangler was too firm. A number of members suggested letting a little bit of air out of the tires so that they weren't absorbing every bump they rode across. A couple people mentioned deflating to 26 lbs for road use.
Now I don't have an issue with my ride at all but I was curious about the pressure in my tires. I have 35 x 12.5, and the shop that mounted them set the pressure at 34 psi.
What do most people run on tires this size? Do most run at 26 to 28 psi?
Thanks,
Beel

Just had 35s mounted last week and told them 30 psi to start and they looked at me like "seriously?" I will probably try 28 myself now that I've had a chance to get some seat time with 30 to see which I prefer. Maybe lower still in a couple of weeks.
around 27-28 in my TJ with 35s was perfect

I'm running 27 psi. Most say they run 26~28 psi and picked the middle. I tried 32 psi. (that's how the shop set) and 30 psi before and the ride was very rough/stiff...sometimes scary.
Once, I drove 32 psi. on a mountain pass (winding road) and was kind of scary... felt hard to control (stay in the lane). On the way back, I air down to 27 psi. and the ride was great.

I wasn't comfortable until I hit 22-23 psi, and that's where they've been since day one. Not only was the ride bumpier at higher levels, the front seemed real darty. Tires seem to be wearing evenly at this pressure for me...

I should have checked this before but...
HOLY CRAP. I've had my Jeep for 4 weeks now and apparently the dealer had my 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ's at 45 PSI!!!
I just now went outside and checked. I dropped all four down to 30PSI and drove around the parking lot. It feels like I'm driving on air compared to how they were! Should make the long drive from Fl, to MD tommorow much more enjoyable.
This thread was a nice wake me up

I had nothing to compare to so I just assumed the slightly bumpy ride and the dartiness were a product of driving this type of vehicle. I'm guessing 34 psi was a little much and we'll like it at the 27 ish range. I'm also curious about the improved tire wear. That's always a nice bonus.
Thanks again for the advice everyone.
