Last year I moved from Florida to California. Drove my jk the whole way with a little 5x8 open trailer and my Harley Sportster. It sucked going through the mountains but I made it. You'll be fine.

Default Over the limit

Towed a 6x10 enclosed trailer basically packed tight with my bike, tools, etc. for thousands of miles with my 2008 JKR 6 speed on 35s and it never let me down. Way over the Jeep recommended weight limit but no issues other than those caused by the gutless 3.8 motor: useless 6th gear, single digit mileage, lotsa downshifting for hills and even headwinds. With a 3.6 you should be good.

Interesting. I Will keep that in mind.

Looks like the 5'x8' enclosed trailer will work for what I need. Will just need a ramp of some sort if I do that.

BryanJK, what did you use for a ramp? I'm hauling a Spotster, too.

My trailers rear gate folds down for ramp. I laid a sheet of plywood then got a cheap motorcycle wheel chock from harbor freight. Two ratchet straps on each fork (one as a safety) then one around the rear wheel. Tightened the straps during rest stops. Made the 2400 mile journey.

You can come live here and I'll go live in Colorado! Good luck with the move.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have a manual and 3.73 gearing. Not that it changes anything.
