Default Track Bar/Drag Link Flip

I don't know if what I heard is correct but someone told me that a drag link flip kit does the same purpose as a new adjustable track bar. I'm starting to rebuild my suspension setup here's what I have

I'm still learning all the jeep stuff I just need advice on what to do.

No, not the same thing.

An adjustable track bar is for re-centering your differential assembly after lifting your JK.

A drag link flip is to correct steering geometry (roll center). It will help keep your track bar and drag link parallel on a JK that has 3" or more lift .

x2, that is my understanding as well and by keeping the two components parallel, it helps eliminate bump steer....

So which one is the more preferred?

Are you still running a 4" lift? If so did it come with a front adj track bar? You will need that to center your axle. The drag link flip will come in handy if you feel your steering is not up to par and you experience bump steer. Both part serves different purposes, but may complement each other especially with the amount of lift you have...

On the lifted JK, raising the track bar mount on the axle with an after market bracket and the factory track bar will correct the track bars angle back to it's original geometry from the frame mount to the axle mount and re-center the diff.

An adjustable track bar can help fine tune the re-centering, but isn't always necessary.

Once the TB axle mount is raised 3" with an aftermarket bracket, the TB and drag link are no longer parallel.

The DL flip corrects this.

An adjustable track bar and a drag link flip are 2 different things.

Yes, and no it didn't. I'm making a build list and I have a rock Krawler adj track bar on the list

Okay, so basically a drop pitman arm is just a cheaper, less durable way to accomplish what the draglink flip does?

....It also causes more stress on the steering box w/out getting the box reinforced...

I have a 4.5" lift with adjustable track bars front and rear, but I have neither a drag link flip kit, nor a dropped pitman arm, just stock stuff. I guess it depends on the particular Jeep.
