Default Tried a diesel 2013 rubicon unlimited

Hi from Sweden

Tried a diesel 2013 rubicon unlimited today and and can only compare to my 2 door sahara wrangler 2012 pentastar.

Rubicon have not been for sale in many years in sweden but this year the imported 19 diesel rubicons for the hole country.

I only tried it on a parkinglot, and things is always greener on the other side, but I feelt it had no go, it was so slow as a traktor and was sounding as one.

I felt no power at all. I find the pentastar little bit scary some time to the power it has. I dont like diesel at all.


The diesel engine cost much more here, the rubicon unlimited diesel cost only about

54 645,59 dollars here

I now you from US You always want diesel, but have tried one?

But if you like no acc, sounds like a tratcor, and have better torque?

I feel as I have the option, pentastar or diesel and I would never concider a diesel. Just my opinion.
The diesel is might for You.

Was it the new 3.0L diesel engine that come in the new Grand Cherokee??

No probably just the same diesel option the over seas jeep's have had is my guess. 2.8L? Maybe i'm just making this up

I personally don't like diesels myself. They're too loud, and the longer life isn't worth it to me because I'd trade it in for a new one before I clocked 300,000 miles on it. I'm not very educated on engines though, so I'm sure there are benefits I am not aware of, and I may be misinformed.

Haha yeah. That's one of my favorite jeep builds, just needs to be a little lower and its friggin perfect. Whenever i hear diesel JK i think of this.

The diesel engine cost about 5700 dollars more than the pentastar engine in Sweden

One year roadtax for the diesel wrangler is twice the pentastar cost. Roadtax is about 1000 dollars a year for the diesel and 500 dollars for the pentastar.

Forgot to mension the engine.

It is a rather new diesel, engine came in the 2011 wrangler.

"In June 2010 VM Motori started the production of the new 2.8L 4-cylinder Euro 5 engine to power the 2011 Jeep Wrangler, 2011 Jeep Cherokee and 2012 Lancia Voyager. The A428 has a maximum power of 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) and a torque of 460 N·m (340 lb·ft) at 1800 rpm. On the manual version of the Jeep Wrangler the A428 features the Stop/Start system to reduce the CO2 emissions.

In January 2011, VM Motori launched its brand new engine 3.0L V6. With 241 CV and 550 N·m (410 lb·ft) the A630 is among the best diesel engines in its class.[citation needed] As result of the collaboration with Fiat Powertrain Technologies the engine features the Multijet2 technology for improved performance, fuel economy and NVH. A saw that the new diesel 3.0L V6 is a 4500 dollar option on the grand cherokee in US according to jeep.com.

In Germany the new diesel 3.0L V6 cost about 3700 dollar more than the pentastar on the grand cherokee.
