I'm a disabled vet, the army gave the 1941 willy's a designated code. And from there soldiers were calling the CJ a civilian jeep when AMC brought out the CJ , it caught on with the public and it stuck, from then on, people have been giving the acronyms, CJ , TJ, YJ, MJ, DJ, their own names

The newest heep model is always the "yuppy" jeep. As it gets older youll see more and more custom builds...

Does anyone know the true pronunciation of the Willys Jeep? Just curious.
Is it Willis or Willie's?

My uncle owned a 1950's. Willys pickup, I always reminded him to sell it me if he ever wanted to get rid of it. I never got it, he passed and I never found out what happened to the truck. Sad.

I've always heard from the older people Will-is , but it could be what ever area you live in, people from way up North (the other side of Shreveport) kinda talk funny
