When to get new shocks

When to get new shocks
Hey guys I've been wondering about how long shocks tend to last. The current one's are doing just fine but will I ever have to replace them?

I just replace mine whenever I find a better set for super cheap. I went from Stock to Rough country 2.2 then found a set of Fox for $50 a year later. It was good because the bushings were going out on my RD shocks.
