Default Wrangler in the snow

Aside from a few flurries last week on I-90, and some leftover snow banks in the mountains last summer, I hadn't really used my 2012 Wrangler Sport in any significant snow - until yesterday. The Jeep is a stock Sport model, with the 6 speed manual and the 3.21 gears and open diffs. I do have 265/75 16 BFG All Terrains on it. Ran into snow on a steep paved road, then more on the dirt roads up a little higher here in the Cascades. The Jeep worked real well, even in two-wheel drive. When it got a little dicey in 2wd, I shifted into four high, and continued on through unbroken snow up to about 8" deep. As anticipated, the little Jeep did just fine. It was a great day in the local hills.

I haven't had a "small" vehicle in quite a while, and was curious about how well the little Jeep would handle the snow, as I'm out in it daily every winter. Am happy to say that the Jeep shrugged it off like it was nothing. Do have chains for all four tires, just in case. Leftover from my old pickup truck.

I was just thinking this morning that I feel like mine runs better the worse the weather is. As if to say "Come on fella, lets go get dirty!" Can't wait for the snow here!

Nice pictures and nice Jeep. We just had our first true snowfall below timberline today...finally, snow, it has the dog all worked up wondering what the white stuff is and me wanting to do what you just did.

mine did well last year also i was surprised how well it did. this was some real wet packy snow. I finally got stuck in the deeper stuff.. was hung up on the frame which is about 17 or 18 inches from the ground i believe. This year i cant wait to try out the bigger and more aggressive mud grapplers!

Yeah. Even with the shitty street tires on mine, it did very well during that giant snowstorm along the east coast last year. Cars were sliding all over and I was climbing the hill right past them. Good time to have a jeep

We have had about 8" so far. The jeep handles it like a dream.

Depends on the kind of snow you get. Your Jeep will go through 20 inches of dry powder without even breaking a sweat. Wet, packed snow is harder to get through when it's deep, because it gets caked all around your axles.
