By the way, are you familiar with Anza Borrego Desert State Park? I'm surprised by the number of San Diegans who aren't aware of it. It has hundreds of miles of Jeep trails and is about an hour and a half from your Rancho Bernado home. There's a ton of fun out there for someone with a Jeep. Check out my videos of my trip (including up nearby Carrizo Mtn, which is not open year-round so check the calendar) ...

Have you tried Pancake Rock in Japatul Rd ? Don't know how far from Rancho Bernardo this is, it's a fun trail that won't be crazy hard on the rig, if you're not lifted, expect to hit and scratch every inch of the factory skids though

I'm also new to the area ... just off of Camino Del Sur. Let me know what you find...as an AZ transplant I am adjusting to having to drive more than 15 minutes to get into the dirt

that trail is close for vehicles but the closest trails are in Santa ysabel by Julian 40 minutes away, we have one pretty cool by the border..........

You can always drive around the mountain and get in to any dirt route that you see
