Just thiking out loud , but couldn't one weld a nut on the undrside of the metal plate and use a piece of threaded rod instead , then one could leave the base there when not carring the jack and not have the blots sticking up. All that ya gotta do then is to screw in the stud and tightn the nut and lockwasher for re installing the jack. I think it would work use the same technique at work with unistrut and threaded rod. to hold really heavey stuff and never have a problem with them comming loose. Great mod none the less .

Decided to try this out. First of all great write up! It really helped out alot.
I cut a circle piece out of a sheet of gasket to put at the bottom of the bolt to help protect my hindges.
I went with a rounded head bolt and shaved it down to keep it closer to the hindge.
Drilled a hole near the top of the bolt for a lock.
Drilled the two outer holes, printer was messed up so I counldn't use your print out.
Determined center for the large bolt.
Used a dremel to make a square for the bottom of the bolt.
For the spacers I actually used some extra fuel line I had laying around. worked great and it was FREE!!!
Mounted
I forgot to take a picture but i squared out the inside of two washers to make up for the space on the square end of the bolt and to make it snug against the nut.
Done!
