Affordable HiLift Jack Hood Mount...EASY!
#21
Quick question
Couldn't you just lift the jack up a little higher and then the windshield washers will work like normal? Other than that, good job, and I might try this when it warms up a little!

Thank you for this awesome write up
So glad I found your write up. I just completed mine, added a few extras to try and avoid the rust I was seeing on other jeeps.
I used stainless screws, washers, bolts. After cutting and drilling the metal bar, i ground it smooth, primed with rustoleum than dipped the bars in blk rustoleum paint.
I also took a sheet gasket, recommended but another poster. Only I cut it to match the metal plates and cut out two holes for the outside bolts to slide through. The gasket sits between the jeep and the head of the 1/2" bolt to protect the finish..
I bought a a Hi-lift Verstility lock to put on one end. And i drilled a small hole through the other bolt just above the wing nut and used a cotter pin to make sure wingnut did not come loose.
Thanks again...
