Project complete! Painted the 2x10 black before I threw it on the ell. Looks nice and the wife is off my back!

Built mine this morning. Very easy. I think I am going to add a third hanger for the front doors for extra support. Each hanger is rated for 50 lbs and each door weighs 62 lbs. so that's more than the recommended weight per hanger. A third may be over kill but it beats a trashed door.

Building mine today and I as well am using a 3rd hanger for my front doors. Good Sunday project while watching the Panthers stomp the Bills in my Garage.

Update on my door hanger. About 10:30 last night it fell. Doors and all. Looks like it pulled out of the studs. Doors are damaged along the bottom and paint is chipped off. After attacking the doors with a hammer and color match paint today they look pretty good. Then I decided to cut the 55 in board in half and make 2 separate hangers and I lowered them so the doors are only 3-4 in off of the floor. This mod seems more stable and secure so far. Now to patch the garage wall.

How were they attached to the wall? What length bolts? Are you sure they were centered on the stud? I don't think design was the problem, just execution.

I think it was execution as well. I pre drilled into the studs but I think I made the holes to big and he lag bolts pulled out. I went smaller on the pre drilled holes this time and and got good tight fit. The design is awesome and easy to build. I just decided to modify it a bit. Now I have 4 lag bolts per hanger.

Has anyone heard of Skinny Pedal Jeep Door Hangers? Doing a google search today and I found these. See like a nice product.

Can't seem to find anyone selling them now. Looks like Cobalt Off-road took them over but their website says not in stock.

I also saw that Ace makes one and now Quadratec has one. But that one runs $119.00. That's a lot of money.

This just solved a problem I was looking into. Now I need to find space in the garage. Thanks for the write up!
