Thanks for the write up! Dealer wanted $500 but I found the part on Amazon from Mopar for $175 and with the help of this thread, installed the part within an hour.

Great write up! I did this just a couple of hours ago. Hardest part was those damn clips holding the airbag on the steering wheel. My old clockspring actually split apart as I pulled the steering wheel off.

Ok, today I was driving my Jeep and the "ESP/BAS" lights lit up on my dash. I'm assuming I have a loose plug or something? Anyone ever see this after changing their clockspring out?

Mine didn't come on after the new clock spring, but that has happened to me before. The reason being one of my wheel speed sensors went out.

Thanks for the write-up. I did it today and it went as planned. I've had the airbag light and chimes going off for months. It almost seem like something is wrong without it.

Wow reading this pisses me off! The dealer charged my mom like $500 to replace this and it didnt even cure the problem she was having. sigh... i hate dealers that take advantage of people. I even went with her and told her not to do it.

I had my first clockspring replaced at about 30k miles under warranty. The airbag light just started coming on again at 100k miles but I have a 08 rhd & have always been harassed regarding a clockspring recall. So I guess now is the time to cash my recall in. It just sucks that this shitty part will always need to be replaced.

Default Clockspring

Hi guys...so I've been poking at the airbag module for an hour...no dice - just d=feels like solid steel in there...can find any indication of a clip or spring...anyone have a picture of whatever is holding the clips on? I'm getting a little worried I'm going to reef on it too hard and do some real damage...thanks

Looking at the 07-10 cruise control instructions online (by members) will help you see what you're looking for. Pulling off the clamshell shield will help you get a better angle at them.

Hmmm - I don't know what the clamshell shield is - I took all the plastic off and the steering column is exposed now - I see the steel loops (in online pics) that must click into a spring loaded clip or a friction fit clip maybe... I haven't searched for cruise control so I'll give that a shot - it just doesn't look that hard! Oh well....should be used to stupidity after owning a jk for the last 8 years! Thanks for the reply.
