Did the grill mod today. Turned out awesome!!! Didn't use the gutter guards. Decided to go with the expanded metal also at Home Depot. $10 per sheet. Used 1 and a half. While I was at it decided to plasti dip it. Pretty impressed with this stuff!!
Also, if your as impatient as I am, use epoxy gorilla glue. Sets up in about 30 min and those bad boys are not going anywhere for a long time!! Thanks for the help guys!!

I used 1 piece of that screen and lock wire to be able to take it off and repaint if needed

Getting ready to do this mod this week. Bought 3/4 inch bases from Amazon along with zip ties. Planning on removing the double face tape using JB weld. I hope HD has the expanded metal sheets in stock. I just need to decide if I am going to paint the metal or plastic dip it.

I picked up majority of the supplies needed to do this mod this weekend, just need the 1x1 mounts will go to Lowes or HD for those, my local Sears didn't have them.

Also the Gutter Guard came in a 6 inch x 20 ft, so I guess I could do a lot of grilles with that, but the question is does it come in like a 4 or 5 inch width? Not that I could find and I don't want to be super wasteful either, but for less than $3 I can't complain.

MDRoots - Yes, That wouold be great - I couldnt find aluminum expanded metal only steel and I am sure that will rust over time with stone chips and all. Maybe we can meet this weekend if your schedule permits.

i did the gutter guard grill insert yesterday. Instead of using zip ties i put a bead of 3m weather strip adhesive around the inside edge of the entire opening. I pressed my insert down and held it in place for a couple of minutes then preceded to the next one. After the adhesive dried it held strong and firm. I think this is a better and more professional way to install instead of using zip ties. Just sounds kinda mickey mouse to me.
