I think this is a better and more professional way to install instead of using zip ties. Just sounds kinda mickey mouse to me.
The great thing about doing Mods is you can personalize or improve them to fit your needs or standards. The purpose of using the zip ties vs a permanent adhesive is for the ability to easily remove and replace an insert if one becomes damaged. I've been running mine for two years now w/ zip ties and they look great. Definitely nothing Mickey Mouse about it.

Did this mod a couple months ago using some a sheet of small hole black aluminum that I purchased from Amazon for about 35.00. Turned out looking really good.

Thumbs up Grill Mod on 2015 Rubi - First Mod EVER!

Just completed my first ever mod on my 2015 rubicon I purchased in December! Bought all the materials at Home Depot per the original write-up. Plasti-dipped the gutter guard. Not too sure how that is going to pan out over the long run. Worried about the rubber coating peeling off over time, but we shall have to wait and see. Only comment I have is about the 1"x1" harnesses. They don't sit flush against the grill in between the 7 iconic jeep slits. I had to use a lot of Gorilla Glue to keep them snug. Hopefully, the glue holds and they stay in place for a long while. Not sure if they sell 1/2" or 3/4" harnesses at HD, but I would try to search for something smaller than the 1". Overall, looks good and should be effective.

Let the mod addiction begin!

Ran into the same problem with the zip tie connectors. Had to trim the sides a little to make them fit snug. Looks like you used enough glue. But if they come off, you may try trimming them down a bit.

Crossing my fingers they don't come off for a while (is 6 months too greedy??) Good idea to trim the connecters. I will have to try that upon replacement. Thanks!

Has anyone that used the aluminum seen an issue with the metal rubbing/scratching/filing through the back of the grill after extended vibration?

I did mine about two years ago and used gorilla glue and have had no issues at all
