Default Is this still a needed mod on newer JK's?

Anybody know for sure whether there was a design change or not to the mirrors on '15 or '16 model years? Is there still a need to perform this mod?

Great question. I've had my 15 for over a year and I don't think I've ever washed it.

I'll pour some water in there and see what happens.

I've got a 2016, and there is a small notch and V shaped cut out in the gasket at the bottom of the mirror.

there is a notch but it gets clogged up easily and still doesn't drain right.

Default Even on a 2017 JK

Came across this thread and noticed it was several years old. Decided to look at my side mirrors and sure enough, even on my 2017 JK, the weep holes as designed don't work well and were also plugged with dirt after only 400 miles. Drilled 3/32" holes in the bottom of each mirror, water drains out readily.
