On a side note this is how I re-installed my CB antenna. I tried it without grounding the carrier itself and it sounded terrible. I grounded the tire carrier to the tub and now sounds like a beaut. As you’ll see I used some zip ties creatively to allow for some flex when the tire carrier is opened and closed. Here are some photos:

I routed my cb this way... along the carrier, down the post near the fuel can and back along the bottom towards the hinge, under the taillight assembly, through the top inside and onto the rollbar. I was going to route it like yours through the tailgate, but it seemed like a lot of extra work and didn't want the cable to hang from the carrier to the tailgate hole..

Very good write up. The install came out great. Very professional. I wanted to see it today but slipped my mind.
