Free cold air intake.
I had an extra stock air box around the garage and I wanted to see if I could make a cheap cold air intake and mimic the aftermarket ones. I drove about 10 miles with it and no mpg difference. The only thing that changed really was engine sound.
I started off by removing the mini snorkel. It just pinches off from the inside.
Then I drilled some guide holes so I can fit the jigsaw in there. Basically cut up to the ribs on the box.

Fat fingers hit send. Sorry
Repeated the same steps on the rear facing panel of the box. My theory behind this was to reduce the chance of water getting in there. It doesn't rain much here in SD and I'm not really into crossing deep water.
Snapped the box back in place and put the filter back on. Runs great sounds good. But like I said. No MPG improvements. I just need to buy the KN air filter now.
