Stripped Bolt on Caliper
This actually occurred on my TJ, but I own a JK too and this trick will also work on a JK. I had a seized bolt on my caliper. I tried everything to remove it and the more I tried the more I rounded the bolt head. Finally, I had given up and was about to resort to using a torch and expanding the metal. This would have been followed up by a sawzall if necessary. I remembered a story I had from a man who had retired from NASA as an engineer. He said "the difference between standard and metric of equivalent sizes is sometimes enough to make a difference." So, I thought "What the heck, I have nothing to loose". I tried it and switched out my 1/2" for a 12 mm (if memory serves me correctly) and "Voila"!!! It loosened the bolt like butter! If this helps one person like it did me than this post was worth it!!!!!
