Same here! Of course a smarter person would have worn gloves when cutting the metal and threading the zip ties... me and my Jeep be blood brothers now.

If you bend the zip tie end (where the notches end) into a "J" shape and do it right, you just have to push the zip in and it pops back out pretty quick. i did way too many on my grill just for overkill since i had them. Did about 60 in total in about 15 mins. Was easier the second time.

I have an extra sheet of Perforated Aluminum that looks just like the stainless steel grill. I'll have it to your door for $20.

Edit: Sold. Dang thing cost $22 to ship!

just finished installing mine as well, used the Aluminum gutter guard mesh and it came out great!

looks good i have some of that stuff in my garage ill have to try it. so use double side tape to hold it on and zipties.

i did this mod when i first got the jeep. one of my favorites!! i went to a steel/ sheet metal place and got a piece of expanded steel and painted black.. had to use super glue on zip tie anchors to get them to stay. awesome mod!! better than spendin a hundred or so on grill inserts!! plus you become one with your jeep!
