Hella Supertone Wiring
Hi guys...
I just finished the install of a set of Hella Supertone horns on my 2010 JKU. There are a bunch of posts on this board already covering these horns, but I was unable to find one detailing the wiring. The horns come with a relay, and a crappy set of instructions on how the wiring should be run.
After some searching on the web, I was able to find a site with the wiring diagram for a motorcycle.... coupled with the crappy Hella instructions, I was able to complete the install. So here is the wiring diagram, complete with a picture of how I hooked up the horns.
I started with picking up the following:
10' or so of black 12 gauge wire
2 10/12 gauge tap splices
6 10/12 gauge female insulated disconnect terminals
2 10/12 gauge ring terminals (for the ground and battery)
The clips from the stock horn fit into the 86 and 85 slots of the relay- the lavender wire goes to 86. The other one goes to 85.
Hope this helps someone down the line....
Cheers!
Charlie
The wiring diagram came from joe250.com... thanks for the permission to use it!
