[QUOTE=tomharley;1084650]I finished my trunk on yesterday.

Tom.....did you weld the metal support frame??? Do you think it would be strong enough if aluminum was used there??? Thanks

Yes, I welded. I thing, aluminium should by OK. This frame is just for support and keeps all parts together,in substance .

that would be sweet! one of those electric ones that can keep stuff cold as long as you have power.

So I just did this mod yesterday. Turned out real well, took a full sunday, a lot of measuring, remeasuring, recutting, but over all about $50. Instead of the angled rods or steel plates, I just mounted the OSB on top of the hard top mounts around the edges. Will post pics soon.

Any ways, I do have a question if anyone could answer, how do you get rid of the lumber yard smell? I mean I like the smell of cut wood when I'm building, but not all the time. Febreezed and lots of time to air out already. Any ideas?

Hey....mine had some odor also.....probably more from the adhesive for the carpet more than anything.....it will pass soon. No worry. The steering wheel cover I installed smelled a whole lot more.....still puts an odor on my hands....must be made in China. (No offense to the Chinese members of course).
