Default jku front bumper

My wife was driving our 2007 jku and hit a guy that ran a stop sign. The front bumper is the only damage, so I'm looking to replace it with something new and functional. What would you all suggest for a weekend warriors family jeep. We wheel moderate trails and want to eventually put a winch on it.

Do you want Full width, mid width, stubby. I personally have the Or Fab mako full width and I love it.

I like the look of the stubby. However, if she was to get in a wreck again would the full length have any added protection based on length?
How much did you pay for the or fab?

The full widths are pretty stout. I think it also depends on type of accident. If you get hit head on a stubby would be fine, but anything near the fenders and the full width has the advantage.

I paid $650 shipped. I got it from Amazon so if they don't charge you tax its only $597.

If you're looking at the wreck perspective then go steel, if you consider weight then consider aluminum. Aluminum isn't for everyone but can be much easier on your suspension.

I've got some brand loyalty to genright but poison spyder's brawler bumper may be for you. I think they come in a mid width and with an optional "bump" bar to keep away those pesky cars that cut you off without sacrificing the ability to snag tight spots. I've run a few different bumpers on my jk and I wouldn't shy away from the Chinese bumpers if you're talking pure straight hits. Anything a little off angle or a full-on roll, I would rather have something engineered a little deeper than just bolting a bumper to the frame. I want to see gussets, extra mounting points, and a splash of aesthetic consideration.

Well I want clearance but not at the expense of safety. Maybe a mid width would be what I'm looking for.

Here is my Warn Rock Crawler Stubby. Very heavy duty and uses the factory fog lights. The do also make mid's.
