Default Modified Poison Spyder BFH Rear Bumper

We all know the OEM rear bumper is worthless and I really like the look of the PS BFH. It's well built and reasonably priced in my opinion. However, my rig has an 1.25" body lift and I hate the gap left between the bumper and the body. Sorry, didn't snap a picture of the gap when I checked the fit. I also wanted to relocate the license plate on the bumper (I've seen too many of my friends rip the OEM tag bracket off on the trails).

Anyway, rather than build a bumper from scratch, I decided to modify the PS BFH. I'm a custom painter by trade, not a welder (so you professionals please be kind lol), but all of this was accomplished in my garage with a welder, a reciprocating saw and a grinder with a cutoff wheel.

During mockup I determined I could add 1.5" inches to the bumpers height and cut it in half.

Then I began adding the 1.5" strips

Once that was finished, I mocked it up again to figure out where I could put the tag without interfering with the spare or the frame.

And started fabricating the recess

Finished welding everything, smoothed out the welds and sprayed it with a bed liner

Just another option if you think outside of the box sometimes. Thanks for looking!

I love the look there, and definitely like the relocated plate. Does your state require your plate to be lit? If so, any plans on how you're going to do that? Are you just going to cut up the factory mount, or wire up something new?

Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I'm working my way through my own build and am kinda stuck. One last question, the mounts, do they slide into the frame, or bolt to the outside? Thanks.
