No rewiring at all. Just cut the factory stalk and reattach with small L bracket.

Thanks! I hated to look of the stock 3rd brake light. I also hated staring at it every time I looked through my rear view mirror. Its amazing how much better the view is through that mirror now that it is gone!

And you are right. The tire size is not an issue, now, but it would have been someday. Now I don't have to worry about it.
