Poison Spyder Rocker Armor Weld On Install
Got these for Christmas, so they represent the first aftermarket part I've installed.

The reason I wanted these to go along with my Rubi Slider Mod, is because the sliders just hit the body and cause damage like this.

But am I inclined to read the directions and use all those Rivnuts? HELL NO! First thing I did was cut those bitches in half, drill a bunch of extra holes in them, mock them up, mark the jeep and grind the Jeep down to bare metal.

Then I plug welded them in place. Note the removable welding tab

A shot with the sliders mocked up

More of the same on the opposite side

Once I had them welded up, I grinded the welds smooth and applied seam sealer to the perimeter of the project. This will keep the elements out and protect the welds between the plate and panel.

Next, a little Evercoat Rage Ultra body filler.

I'm including this next pic because I think it might help some of you guys who want to paint, bed line, or plasti dip your Jeeps. Don't tape the hard line first, then mask the rest. Do all the major masking first, then do your tear line. This way when you untape your project, you only have to remove one strip of tape, not try to peel away all the masking without touching your wet paint.

So anyway, all masked up. Body filler sanded. Ready to spray.

PPG Etch Primer applied with my SATA KLC 1.7.

Then a fast forward to Raptor Liner and done.

Anyway, that's my weld on Rocker Armor project. Something I actually managed to get done in one day.

Wow. I'm way impressed.I had their Brawler knockers on my 07 and loved them. I've been wanting to put a set on my 12 but I have been dreading the whole drilling and nutsert install. This install is way cleaner.

No single thread. I have links in my signature to each individual thread for each project. You can see my bumper, my fenders, my disco flip, etc.
