Frankly, to me, it's not any more dangerous than a lift kit....

Brilliant mod. I used 1/8" aluminum flat stock cut to 2.5" long and played with the shims until I found the right comfort level. Ended up with 3 (3/8") in the back and 1 (1/8") in the front.

If you could get longer bolts ect. What does everyone think would be the optimal height added to each?
And yes using flat bar and not washers.
Could I get away with 1" on each front/rear? I'm looking to create a bucket seat style recline with seat bottom to match recline.

So are you saying you added 3/8" height to the back and only 1/8" height to the front? If you could get longer bolts ect. What does everyone think would be the optimal height added to each? I think you can get close to 1" each, but it may start to bind. Only one way to find out.

Here is an answer to the rear seat problem in which you DON'T have to completely remove the hardware because they're spacers are 'c- channeled' , look: 07 14 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rear Seat Recline Spacer Kit 08 09 10 11 12 13 | eBay

The manufacturer already has a set of seats that would work and solve the problem, they are called sto-n-go seats from the minivans. Here are mine, the fold flat, slide forward and back, and recline.
I tried the tilt option but it still wasn't comfortable enough for the kids. Also, the rear bench isn't large enough for three passengers so dual buckets should be the norm...
