Default Excellent!

I've had this idea on the back burner for a while now -- glad to see someone do it! Now if a manufacturer could offer a cut-and-bolt kit, I'd be all over it! :-)

Thanks for posting!

Couple questions:
What gauge or thickness of steel did you use? Any pictures or explaination of how the backside is bolted to the front side of the jack storage. did you make a lip at the top of the box? Is it welded to the jeeb body or attached some other way? I can't weld so need to get a clear understanding so I can describe to someone that can make this for me.

Again thanks

I'll have to shoot a note over to cool tech. This as an aftermarket kit, should be right up their alley.

I'm pretty sure that it's 16 Gauge steel. I'll shoot a note over to RockRash to make sure. Take a look at the notes that I added to my original post. I tried to show how I fastened everything.

I've added detail to my original post.

I was thinking I could fill it full of rocks for the guy that likes to tailgate me on the 210 in his Prius. I'll put a little trap door. Next time when he get so close behind me that I can't see his car any more.....WHAMO!

Great idea and great job, very nice work. Now I have something else to do if I ever get the time. I would drill a hole in mine and use the stock drain plug ... gotta get that melted ice out of there when all the beers are gone.
