Default Rear window defroster tab broken off glass

Rear window defrost inop. Found left side tab off glass. First tried conductive glue, didn't work and tab came off again anyway. Reluctant to try and solder on glass. Any help??

I believe Permatex makes a repair kit .....50 / 50 on if it works or not other than that I do not think there is a way to repair it

I tried the permeated kit, removed the rear window and let it cure in house for a week. Fell off within two days after speaking to dealer in Germany they say it's a problem and new glass is only fix. So no rear defroster for me.

I have seen a "Cold Solder " repair kit at Auto Glass shop, might be similar to Permatex kit .I would suggest taking rear glass to Auto Glass shop, see if they can do the repair. Very common problem, should be able to help. The cost of the silver copper metallic epoxy kit made it a Professional Grade expense, but one kit would do several repairs.

Default Do you really need defrost on a vertical window?

Mine broke off last fall and the only fix I did was stop using it. After making it through my first winter without it I realized that I don't really need it.
