I think the install would be a ton easier if you didn't have an aftermarket tire carrier since you could go right through the old hole your 3rd brake light went through on the tailgate.

how do you get the little scre holder things out of where the mopar plug goes???!! i'm having issues with these haha.
edit: never mind i got em out with a lil bit of muscle....now just waiting on my new rear bumper to arrive!!!!!

Check the color combo on the wires again. Sometimes people confuse a white wire with an orange stripe for an orange wire with a white stripe. If that's not it, then I'm not sure what went wrong as you can see from my pics what I wrote is how they are wired. Maybe it's a different yr Jeep?

few things, black wire was ground.. On my rig the wire you used for ground is for my reverse lights (I used it as the trigger for my back-up camera).. also, If I wired it like this, my center brake would flash with the right turn signal.. I ended up wiring the new brake light wire (red) to the factory center brake light (white) also found behind the tailight underneath a cloth tube heading towards the tailgate
