I think the install would be a ton easier if you didn't have an aftermarket tire carrier since you could go right through the old hole your 3rd brake light went through on the tailgate.

Augie, is that a backup camera cut into the license plate under the light? if so, that is slick..

I noticed that thing too. If it is a camera, did you rig up a quick connector disconnect like the ORO light has? If so, props bro....that is slick.

Check the color combo on the wires again. Sometimes people confuse a white wire with an orange stripe for an orange wire with a white stripe. If that's not it, then I'm not sure what went wrong as you can see from my pics what I wrote is how they are wired. Maybe it's a different yr Jeep?

just took it all apart and double checked it.. It's wired like you wired yours. The only other wire in the loom to the taillight is black. I dunno...

There may be something wrong with the ORO lite. Can you exchange it?

I just installed this set up....

Thank you for the write up

few things, black wire was ground.. On my rig the wire you used for ground is for my reverse lights (I used it as the trigger for my back-up camera).. also, If I wired it like this, my center brake would flash with the right turn signal.. I ended up wiring the new brake light wire (red) to the factory center brake light (white) also found behind the tailight underneath a cloth tube heading towards the tailgate
