Static cling soft top tint
Bought a 2012 used sunrider top on Craigslist for $180... WIN! The windows are clear and I'm cheap. So did some research and acted on it! After watching you tube videos on tint application and and reading other forums I figured I would share my experience with y'all.
Tint is black magic 5% static cling.
Used spray bottle mixed with water and baby shampoo.
Scissors, razor blade, sharpy, credit card, and tape.
Used paper backing from tint for templets.
Clean glass with solution, soak plastic windows and cut tint completely in solution with spray bottle
Squeegee out from the center in a 360 degree pattern with card.
I recommend cutting back 1/8 of inch from seem to allow the tint to apply air tight.
The result turned out pleasing. However, it doesn't look completely professional. I'm not going to complain because it only cost me $30 vs $250 for new windows, plus I tinted the front windows to!
Key to installation is patience. Lol
